Episode 1: The Invasion Begins

The world changed in a single night.

In the year 2135, humanity's greatest fears were realized. The sky split open, revealing a colossal alien mothership that cast a shadow over the Earth. Its metallic surface shimmered with an unnatural glow, pulsating with energy that radiated both awe and terror. The ship hovered above major cities—New York, Beijing, Moscow, Lagos—all of them caught in the crosshairs of an invasion unlike anything humanity had ever seen.

They called themselves the Morphidons.

Within hours, the alien invaders decimated entire countries. Cities crumbled under their relentless assault, reduced to ashes by energy beams fired from the ship. Military forces were obliterated, unable to withstand the technological superiority of the Morphidons. The aliens weren’t just here to conquer—they came to enslave.

But they didn’t stop with brute force. The Morphidons employed a far more insidious tactic: infiltration. Governments were hijacked from within, their leaders replaced by Morphidon puppets who enforced the aliens' will. And with control firmly in their grasp, they issued a chilling decree—a list of individuals deemed threats to the new order.

Raymond Cooper was on that list.

Ray sat on the edge of his bed in a rundown apartment on the outskirts of Phoenix City. His hands trembled as he stared at the small holographic device displaying his face on a wanted poster. The headline beneath his picture read: "Raymond Cooper - Highly Dangerous: Shoot on Sight."

“This can’t be happening,” he muttered, running a hand through his disheveled hair. “I didn’t ask for any of this.”

Harley Richmond, his girlfriend, paced the room nervously. Her brown eyes darted to the window, watching for any sign of approaching authorities. “Ray, we have to leave. They’ll find us if we stay here.”

Ray shook his head. “They’ve taken over everything, Harley. The government, the military… even the media. Where can we possibly go where they won’t find us?”

Harley knelt beside him, placing a hand on his cheek. “We survive. That’s all we can do. You’re stronger than this, Ray. We’ll figure it out.”

The sound of distant sirens cut through the tense silence. Harley stiffened, her hand dropping from Ray’s face.

“They’re coming,” she whispered.

Ray stood abruptly, grabbing a backpack filled with supplies. He slung it over his shoulder and reached for Harley’s hand. “We have to move. Now.”

They bolted out of the apartment and into the desolate streets. The once-bustling city was now a ghost town, its residents either captured or too terrified to leave their homes. The sky above was a murky gray, tainted by the remnants of the Morphidons' initial attacks.

Ray led Harley through back alleys and abandoned buildings, his mind racing. The list. That damn list. He wasn’t just a target—he was the target. The Morphidons had marked him as a potential threat, someone capable of disrupting their plans.

But why?

Ray wasn’t a soldier or a scientist. He was an ordinary man with a troubled past, trying to make a living in a world that had already fallen apart before the invasion. He was a government spy.

The sound of boots on the pavement brought him back to the present. He yanked Harley into a narrow alleyway, pressing them both against the wall as a squad of government enforcers marched by. Their uniforms bore the insignia of the Morphidon regime—a twisted emblem that once represented freedom.

“We need to get to the desert,” Ray whispered. “It’s our best chance.”

Harley nodded, her expression determined. “Let’s go.”

The desert stretched endlessly before them, a vast expanse of sand and rock bathed in the fading light of the setting sun. The heat was oppressive, but it offered a sliver of hope—a place where the Morphidons’ surveillance couldn’t easily reach.

Ray and Harley trudged through the dunes, their footsteps leaving faint imprints in the sand. The sirens had faded, but the sense of danger lingered.

“Do you think they’ll stop?” Harley asked, breaking the silence.

Ray shook his head. “No. They won’t stop until they have me. And they’ll do whatever it takes to get me.”

Suddenly, a deafening roar echoed across the desert. Ray turned, his heart pounding. In the distance, a fleet of drones soared through the sky, their metallic bodies glinting in the twilight.

“Run!” Ray shouted, grabbing Harley’s hand.

They sprinted across the sand, the drones closing in fast. Ray’s mind raced as he searched for a way out. The landscape offered little cover—just endless dunes and scattered rocks.

One of the drones fired, a laser beam scorching the sand inches from Ray’s feet. He stumbled, pulling Harley down with him.

“Go!” he urged, shoving her toward a rocky outcrop.

Harley hesitated, her eyes wide with fear. “I’m not leaving you!”

“You have to!” Ray shouted. “They’re after me, not you. If you stay, they’ll kill us both.”

Tears streamed down Harley’s face as she backed away. “I’ll find you,” she promised. “I’ll come back for you.”

Ray nodded, his heart breaking. “Go. Now.”

Harley turned and ran, disappearing behind the rocks. Ray stood his ground, facing the approaching drones with a grim determination.

The first drone hovered before him, scanning him with a blinding light. Ray shielded his eyes, bracing for the inevitable.

“Raymond Cooper,” a robotic voice announced. “You are hereby ordered to surrender to the Morphidon regime.”

Ray clenched his fists. “Come and get me.”

The drone fired, but Ray dove to the side, rolling across the sand. He grabbed a rock and hurled it at the drone, striking its sensor. Sparks erupted as the drone spiraled out of control, crashing into the dunes.

More drones descended, their weapons primed. Ray ran, his heart pounding in his chest. He darted between the rocks, dodging laser fire and searching for a way to escape.

Finally, he reached the edge of a cliff overlooking a vast canyon. He glanced back, seeing the drones closing in.

With no other option, Ray took a deep breath and jumped.

The fall seemed endless. Wind rushed past him, and for a moment, Ray felt weightless. Then he hit the sand below, rolling to a stop. Pain shot through his body, but he forced himself to his feet.

The drones hovered at the cliff's edge, unable to follow him down the steep descent.

Ray staggered forward, each step a battle against exhaustion and despair. He thought of Harley, of the promise she made.

“I’ll find you,” he whispered to the wind.
