Chapter 1
Divorce
“What is the meaning of this, Carla?” Angry Robin Davenson stalked into a high-end office, with a lit-up phone in hand. He threw the phone directly on the desk, before his wife.
“Kissing someone? Why are you jittery?” Carla shrugged, not even picking up the phone. She had already seen the picture on it. She then relaxed in her chair with a nonchalant expression.
“I am your husband, Carla! You kissed someone, right at a party and it is on all blogs! Don’t you owe me an explanation?” Robin frowned, even harder, appalled by her attitude.
“I see no reason why I should explain to you, Robin. You are the one who went snooping around on blogs and that is why you came across that picture.” She shrugged again.
“You shouldn't blame me.”
“Carla, we are married, that’s cheating–”
“Oh please!” She cut him off, raising her hand in the air. This time, her nonchalance was gone, replaced by a displeased look.
“Cheating?” She stood up, eyeing Robin from head to toe. “We are married, yes but do you act like my husband? Are you even worthy of being one?”
“Since you are so worked up about some ordinary kiss, I should relieve you of your duties.” She picked up a piece of document right off her desk and threw it straight at Robin.
“Sign that. I am divorcing you, Robin.” She ordered.
“You are joking, right?” Robin asked, shocked and watching the document fall back to the table.
“No, Robin. I prepared this a long time ago. It’s time I got rid of you.” She shook her head, with a mocking expression.
Robin’s face went blank, wondering what to think of this. The divorce had come so shockingly for him even though all he wanted to do was get the truth about the picture.
If she had at least explained that the picture was doctored, he would believe her because he held her in high esteem in his heart. But now, watching her being nonchalant alongside the divorce papers told him, Carla wasn't what he thought she was.
“Are you sure about this?” That was all Robin could ask. He wasn't about to beg her to let him stay. He just needed to remind her all that she would throw away if she divorced him.
In his mind, she needed to rethink.
“We have been through a lot together, Carla. We have spent three years together and I have helped you in any way I can to bring your company to this level.”
“You wouldn't throw all this away, right?”
“Robin…” She called his name so sweetly, with her eyes twinkling. For a split second, Robin thought she finally came to her senses but in the next second…
“Haha…” Carla burst into a peal of mocking laughter. Her belly rumbled and she fell back on her chair, shaking. “You have no shame. You are saying all that motivational speech so I could let you stay?”
“What did you do, huh? You did absolutely nothing for me!” She banged her fist on the table, stamping her words.
“Your acclaimed sleepless nights were nothing I couldn't pay for if you had asked. It’s not my fault you decided to slave away for me…” Her smile turned into a wicked grin as she dipped her hand into her drawer.
“But you see this…” She swung a couple of documents in his face. “This is a contract with Julls Corps, a company owned by the most powerful family in this city.”
“I am going to rise to the top soon, and you stand here, telling me you helped me get this far? What a joke! Did you get this contract for me?” She barked.
“Are you seriously saying that?” Robin asked, shocked at his wife’s rude attitude. One he had never seen before. And then a questionable gaze appeared in his eyes, “You don’t even know who got that contract for you–”
“All I know is that it’s not you, Robin! Quit questioning me and sign the papers!” She yelled, cutting him off.
Carla started to breathe heavily, staring at Robin with mockery and disdain. She wondered how she was able to marry such a spineless man.
On the other hand, Robin let out a low chuckle, “So, this is how you want to pay me back, huh?”
“What more do you need?” Carla sneered. “I clothed you, fed you, and housed you for years. Having me as a wife is a blessing you shouldn't have had. Isn’t that enough for the sleepless nights you had toiling over me?”
“Do you want more so you can prove your golddigger status?”
Robin stood there, low-key laughing about being called a gold digger. Her insults didn't get to him at all, after all, he wasn't a slave like she claimed. But he was hurt that a wife he cared for could turn out like this.
He looked at the divorce papers, wondering whether to sign it or not. After all, if he wanted to keep her, he would. But on the other hand, she wasn't worth it.
“Is he still here?” A familiar and condescending voice rang inside the office and Robin saw Carla’s mother walking in.
“I hope you didn't demand anything from my daughter. If you had some conscience, you wouldn't live with her for three years, hindering her from opportunities because she had a weak husband who couldn't provide for her.”
“Now, she is shining at the moment she decided to divorce you, isn't that good? You wouldn't be a killjoy, would you?” She sneered.
“Of course not, Madam Kia.” Robin decided. “Your daughter is no longer my wife, from now on.” He smiled, still not fazed by the insults. He realized both mother and daughter were nothing to write home about.
His calmness ticked them the wrong way but then they realized they had finally gotten what they wanted as Robin bent down to sign the papers.
However, the door opened up and a chaotic figure walked in, shocking Robin. He stood still, as the figure walked straight to him.

He had since moved into the most luxurious residential area in Westbourne, surrounded by top officials.Tonight, they were going to decide the fate of Chairman Wells as well as Brother West, the mayor, and the attendants who were in cahoots. After Divorce, My Ex-wife Cried In Regret Sign The Agreement
Cora took in a deep breath, hearing that. She thought this was just a marriage between both families and both had to do their own bidding. Why did she have to sign a contract binding her to Ethan? On the other hand, Jane saw her confusion and immediately chipped in, “What I mean is, once you get married to Ethan, there is no room for divorce. If you want a divorce, your family would have to give up their whole fortune.”“Do you understand?” Jane’s gaze rested on her, a probing one, that gave her pressure she didn't like. The thought of not being able to divorce Ethan didn't sit well with her. What if he turned out to be a bad husband even though her father had praised him? What if…“I will have to think about it—”“There is nothing to think about here.” Dean cut in with a smile. “Ethan is a fine young man and I am sure he will be a great husband to my daughter. Isn't that so?”“Yeah. Sure.” Ethan responded with a proud smile. His eyes shone gleefully as he stared at Cora. She was so

After Divorce, My Ex-wife Cried In Regret Formal Meeting With The Davensons
Two days later…“Boss, I have bad and good news.” Mason walked into Robin’s high-end office with a stiff gaze. He had realized just how much Cora meant to his boss but he didn't know how to break the news to him. “The bad news first.” Robin dropped the pen in his hands that signed away the fate of most companies in Westbourne city and beyond. “Cora has gone back to her family in Eastbourne. Her marriage to Ethan is currently being planned.” Mason said, with a cautious gaze. Robin took a deep breath, knowing Cora did that to get rid of him. How far was she willing to go? Or how far was Carla going to keep pushing her? “The good news?” Robin raised his brow in question even though he was unsettled by the bad news, he wasn't going to dwell on negative things too much. He would only find a way around it. “Cora’s company representatives are currently on a flight to meet you. They are deeply apologetic about her actions and pledge to call her to order. Should we go on with the meeting—

After Divorce, My Ex-wife Cried In Regret Tweaking Her Reasoning
Immediately, Cora grabbed the phone, staring at the pictures with wide eyes. There were ones where Robin caught her from falling on the sidewalk and even ones where he carried her to his car because of her injured toe.All in all, they looked like a couple in love, with the man doting on his woman. “Carla, I promise you. This isn't what you think.” Cora said shakily. She hoped her friend wouldn't think she had something personal to do with Robin. But Madam Kia didn't buy that. “What do you mean it isn’t what she thinks?” She barked at Cora. “You went after your friend’s ex-husband. You took her contract and now you don't want to let go.”“That’s not true!” Cora gasped. She then quickly turned back to Carla, “Believe me, please. I injured my toe…see…” She stretched her leg up. “Robin insisted on helping me and nothing else. I don't know how these pictures came about too…” She cried, desperately hoping for her friend’s trust. On the other hand, Carla still had a devastated expressi

After Divorce, My Ex-wife Cried In Regret Recognition
“Can you drop me off at this intersection? I will find my way home from here...” Cora nervously sat up on the passenger seat of the car.Robin turned to look at her, noticing her odd movements, “Why do I have to stop here? We are just a few distance away from the hotel. It would be no use if I dropped you off here.”“But I want to get down!” She groaned in displeasure. Immediately, Robin hit the brakes, driving to the side with a calm expression. He didn't want to push her too hard but then he was concerned about her injury. A toe injury could get significantly worse if infected. “Tell me why and then you can get down. I won't force you to stay.” At least, he had to know what he did wrong this time. As the car came to a stop, Cora pursed her lips, not knowing what to say. How could she say he appealed to her while he drove? The strong flex of his arm muscles that strained beneath his clothes, just enough for her to see was everything. And added to that, she felt like she was commit
